Rio Rancho Public School Bond
Strong Schools = Strong Communities
$80 Million Bond Issue for School Construction/Modernization
- Address critical needs across the district that support student success
and safety (see below for a list of projects) - Improve and expand educational facilities
- Provide leverage to acquire an additional $24 million from the NM Public Schools Facilities Authority: RRPS would be able to complete $104 million worth of projects for just $80 million!
NO TAX RATE INCREASE!
Passage renews community support at the current tax rate.
Polls open from 7AM – 7PM on Election Day
Rio Rancho voters will have a bond issue on the Nov. 4, 2025 ballot. Passage of this bond will not increase the tax rate. A majority of yes votes will authorize the school district to issue new bonds as older bonds are retired, or paid off.

STEAM MAGNET SCHOOL AT RIO RANCHO ELEMENTARY
$12 Million
Rio Rancho’s oldest elementary school, Rio Rancho Elementary, originally built 50 years ago, is in need of upgrades and a new mission. RRPS plans to re-create Rio Rancho Elementary as a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) magnet school, which in addition to emphasizing future-ready skills could provide opportunities for community members of all ages, such as a planetarium and a permanent home for the community-partnered UFO Research Center.

Complete the 2024 Bond Projects
$20 Million
20 Million Inflation affected the RRPS construction projects. In order to complete projects we’ve already promised to voters in previous bond issues, the district needs additional funds. Passage of this bond issue will allow us to fulfill our commitment to complete projects including the completion of roof replacements at Colinas del Norte Elementary and Maggie Cordova Elementary; structural, drainage and electrical work at Eagle Ridge Middle School; drainage and electrical work at Enchanted Hills Elementary; information technology infrastructure; and facilities upgrades to support special needs students, including the Desert Pathways program.

ROOF, HVAC, AND DRAINAGE PROJECTS
$5 Million
This project includes funding for HVAC (heating and cooling) upgrades at Maggie Cordova Elementary and roof, drainage,
and HVAC upgrades at Ernest Stapleton Elementary Schools. Both are now 20 years old and are in need of work to assure
they remain safe and functional places for teaching and learning. This project may qualify for partial state funding.

Athletic and Band Projects
$8 Million
This funding would go toward turf upgrades for the track field and the main soccer field at RRHS and the soccer fields at CHS, along with additional projects benefiting both high schools’ track and other athletic programs, helping the district save water (and money!) and improve safety for our student athletes. Band students need safe areas to practice on, and the band practice facilities at Rio Rancho and Cleveland High are both in need of upgrades for their award-winning programs that enhance student learning and keep students connected to school.
Igniting Student Potential
